Black Mamba

This is the latest Nike campaign with a short film directed by Robert Rodriguez featuring the newest sneakers for Kobe Bryant. Before I continue I should say I HATE KOBE BRYANT AND THE LAKERS, but this video featuring Kanye West, Johnny Trejo, and Bruce Willis is pretty funny. Done in the campy grindhouse style of Rodriguez. Check it out and enjoy.

Coachella 2011 Lineup

Revised Lineup: No more Daft Punk or Neil Young or Feist, but The Black Keys, Nas and Damien Marley instead.

This is the best lineup in recent memory and might be the first year I actually fair the heat and crowds. The festivals carry a hefty price tag these days but this lineup seems worth it. Here are a few songs from some of this years headliners. Enjoy and maybe I'll see you there.

Neil Young
"Heart of Gold" Harvest

Kanye West
"Flashing Lights" Graduation

Daft Punk
"Something About Us" Discovery

Crystal Castles
"Crimewave" Crystal Castles

Day (18) of GOOD

Here are some repeat offenders, these records were both way too good not to have a couple tracks off each effort. The Suburbs is arguably the best record of the year, CONCRETE OPINIONS likes Sleigh Bells better but its close.

The Arcade Fire
"Modern Man" The Suburbs

Kid Cudi
"Mojo So Dope" Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager

Kanye West
"Good Friday" ft. Common, Pusha T, Kid Cudi, Charlie Wilson G.O.O.D. Friday Mixtape

Day (5) of GOOD

The lead singer of Sleigh Bells, Alexis Krauss, has to be every hipster kids crush. She was a former teen pop vocalist and the producer, Derek Miller, was in a hardcore band... so of course it made sense to make music together. The second track is from the infamous and ever growing provacetuer/bastard we all know as Kanye West. I love him but I understand why most don't, but his music, especially beats speak for themselves. This is a track of his much anticipated album released last month.

Sleigh Bells
"Infinity Guitars" Treats

Kanye West
"Monster" MY Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (not to be confused with Mr. Toad's wild ride)

BONUS: more Theophilus... a dope remix of The xx's "You've Got The Love" (hands down my two favorite artists this year)
can be heard on HYPETRAK

80's kid

Being an 80's kid I can't help but have some anticipation for the new Tron remake, Tron Legacy 3D, from Disney. This rendition features a first time feature film director, an original score by Daft Punk (which is awesome), and a great cast featuring Olivia Wilde, Jeff Bridges, Michael Sheen, and more. Check it out, I also read that Pharrell Williams was so obsessed with the original film that helped produce this, but I can't confirm. Enjoy

And here is a cool interview with Pharrell where he mentions his new project with Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West called Child Rebel Soldier.

"Fire" and Phoenix

A new film by artist Kanye West, say what you will about him, but the man is talented and this film even further proves this. I'm ok with people being cocky, if they back it up. The visuals in this are crazy, and the story is of a Phoenix who falls from the cosmos.
The film features music from Kanye's upcoming album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy"...not to be confused with "Mr Toad's Wild Ride" Enjoy.
