All Mixed Up
Tune in tonight at 730 to 90.1 (in Northern CA) or kzfr.org for All Mixed Up, a local radio show hosted by my friend and former history teacher Drew. If you recall he was the one who wrote the thesis on American Hardcore that I wanted to post but couldn't because it would infringe on Chico State's copyright laws. Anyway, tune in tonight, I'll be hangin out in the studio talkin music with Drew. Tonight's focus will be cover songs. Become a fan of All Mixed Up on Facebook.

Living up to the HYPE
So I finally saw the movie that everyone else has already seen, enjoyed, and been raving about for the last three weeks. It's tough to see a movie with this much hype this late, because all the talk can really ruin a good movie. I was excited for this movie just because of what I had read about the technology that went into making it.
James Cameron had the idea for this movie over ten years ago and the technology wasn't even available...that's a true visionary, and this movie was one of the most visually stunning works of art that I've ever seen before. At first glance this movie looked like a 250 million dollar Jar Jar Binks and friends, and I was worried that it would be a huge mess. It wasn't, and I really enjoyed it, even at over two and a half hours. The 3D was unlike anything I have ever seen, it was almost as if your in the world, not like the campy 3D I remember as a kid. So if you haven't seen it go and do so, I probably will again.

Day (31)...Fin
It's the wee hours of the AM as I write the final day of GOOD and I'm a lil sad, partly because I won't know what to do with my time since this is ending and I still have a month left of winter break, and because '09 was a GOOD year.
I got married this year, had an amazing semester of school, discovered some amazing bands, saw some even more amazing films, and got accepted to work on a documentary film in Spain (my favorite place on earth) for two weeks this coming semester, and I found this amazing creative outlet.
Unfortunately this year was also a year of great loss, my wife and I, and our circle of friends sadly went to more funerals than weddings and I want to send my thoughts and prayers to all their family. We also lost the greatest entertainer of all time, and I hope that is the light his legacy is remembered.
God Bless and enjoy the music, and Happy New Year
Some final GOOD for your '09
Wale Ft. Bun B
"Mirrors", Attention Deficit
Kid Cudi Ft. MGMT & Ratatat
"Pursuit of Happiness", Man on the Moon
And what would the end of the year be without some MJ, I assume you have Thriller and Off the Wall, so here are some others spanning the length of his career. RIP
Michael Jackson
"I Wanna Be Where You Are"
"Remember the Time"
"Scream"
